I can't speak about the Fortitude, but if you install a reg. in the Disco you will be able to back off on the striker spring a bit. The other thing you can do with the Disco is use bulk fill co2 in the warmer weather and go to a lighter spring.
Shame you can't find an older model discovery hammer spring. They were like .035 and the newer ones (harder to cock) are like .042 or .045 Don't know many places that sell a "lower powered" hammer spring. Most folks want stouter spring for more power. And I'm sure your aware if you put in a lower power spring that your FPS (speed) of the pellet will drop also. The Fortitude has an adjustment in the back to increase or decrease spring tension (cocking effort).
But factory disco's don't.
I think the factory Crosman 2240 spring might be a little weaker, or maybe one out of a 1377 or 1322.
You may have to take your spring out and either cut it some or try to match it up with something from the hardware store to get what your looking for. Ray
