Thanks for that. Looks like an easy mod but it hurts to punch your breech like that. Almost like drilling extra holes in a nice new tube or breech ouch! But still to make things better you have to do it. ;^)
That is probably the quickest way to solve the problem, Mike. And having a "snap" into battery is also nice because you know you're locked down. To be honest, I'm not sure I could bring myself to do it.
I have done the following in this progression:
1) Make sure the barrel is fully seated (bottomed out) in the breech. The port alignment can also wreak havoc with this issue.
2) Use a larger diameter bolt handle... I have some that vary from .184" to .191"
3) Use a larger o-ring on the probe. Usually you can't just go from an 003 to an 004 in .177, or 005 to 006 in .22 (006 won't work anyway because the id. is too large). But there are metric sizes in between that can be "just right".
